Toxins Testing
How toxic are we?
Environmental toxins are becoming increasingly problematic. They’re in the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, and common household items such as cleaning and personal care products. Industrial manufacturing, fossil fuel consumption, and chemical-intensive crop production are constantly increasing our exposure. Here in Ohio, we are especially susceptible to exposure. The EPA always rates Ohio in the Top 10 in the country for the most chemicals released into our environment. In 2020 and 2021, we ranked #6 in the country with over 2000 POUNDS per square mile introduced into our air, soil and water!! That’s a ton!!
Where do all the toxins come from in our area?

The Global Alliance on Health and Pollution estimates that toxic pollutants are responsible for 15 percent of all premature deaths worldwide. Why? Toxins poison enzymes that run our metabolic pathways, including our detox pathways! They can mimic or interfere with cell signaling, impairing the efficacy of our hormones and promoting rapid aging. They cause DNA damage and interfere with the repair process, and much, much more!
How do toxins affect weight loss?
Fat cells are metabolically inactive and are where the body parks toxins it can’t eliminate efficiently. It’s like your body’s own internal toxic waste dump. In this way, toxins are sequestered away from cells and organs. When we lose weight, these toxins are liberated back into the system where they can impair the function of organs and cells. To protect against this, our body becomes weight loss resistant. This is one of many reasons twice yearly detox is important to overall health.
Great Plains Laboratory Mycotox Panel
In Ohio, mold growth in our homes is becoming more common as precipitation in our area increases. Many people are able to detoxify mold they’re exposed to, but about 1 in 4 people have a genetically induced predisposition to become ill if exposed to mold toxins. This test is a urine catch that can identify a high body burden of mold toxins.
Mold can cause allergic symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, itching, coughing, wheezing, difficulty breathing, headache, and fatigue. Repeated or prolonged exposure to mold can also increase sensitivity to other antigens, leading to more severe allergic reactions over time.
Mold Mentor Home Testing
If elevated mold toxins are detected, the first step is to determine the source, which is often the patient’s home. We highly respect this group, which was founded by a family that once dealt with their own mold issues, and wanted to provide an honest assessment and remediation process for others experiencing the same issues.
Genova Toxic Element Clearance
This panel measures urinary excretion of a diverse range of potentially harmful elements such as lead and mercury, and new technology toxins such as niobium.
